Questions
When will it arrive?
Each edition card at the top shows if it’s in stock or on pre-order, with the ship date. In-stock units leave NSW the same business day by free AusPost. Recent orders to NSW and QLD have taken 3 to 6 business days; allow longer for WA and the NT.
Will it drain my battery?
It goes to sleep when the key is off. If the vehicle sits for weeks, set the shortest sleep time in settings and unplug the engine reader.
Will it throw dash warning lights?
If your vehicle needs a CAN interface, it comes in the loom, so warning lights aren’t expected. If one shows after fitting, message us a photo and we’ll sort it.
Will it void my new-car warranty?
Generally no. A maker can’t refuse a warranty claim just because an accessory is fitted, only for a fault the accessory caused. Nothing gets cut, so the factory radio can go back in.
Maps with no signal?
The GPS works without phone signal. Download your maps before you go: Google Maps offline areas are free, and Hema (paid) is built for the bush. Elite’s 256GB holds big offline map packs.
Can I run a dashcam?
Yes. Plug a USB dashcam in (not included) and run its app from Google Play. On Elite it runs alongside Hema; on Essentials, run one big app at a time.
What SIM do I need?
Any 4G data SIM from Telstra, Optus, Vodafone or their resellers. It goes in the tray behind the unit. You may need to enter the carrier’s APN settings once, and we can walk you through it.
Screen and controls?
No knob. Volume and controls are on the screen, and on the steering wheel buttons on facelift models. Polarised sunglasses can make any car screen look darker, which is normal.
Antenna, USB and radio?
Your factory antenna plugs into the loom. Two USB leads run wherever suits you. FM is built in. There’s no AM or DAB+ tuner, but those stations stream through free apps like ABC listen, using data. The extra Wi-Fi and Bluetooth antenna improves range around camp.
Will it sound better?
It drives your factory speakers properly and has an equaliser, so yes, a bit. If sound matters to you, budget for speakers too. Amp and sub leads are already on the loom.
