LED Tail Lights · Nissan GU Patrol Series 4–8 · 2004–2016
The factory rear end is done.
This is the proper fix.
Cracked lenses, faded housings, dim incandescent globes — the factory GU tail lights look exactly like what they are: 20-year-old technology. These smoked LED assemblies bolt straight into the factory mounting points, connect to the factory loom, and upgrade every function to full LED output — brake, tail, indicator and reverse — in under 30 minutes.
Wiring — Read Before You Order
Australian-spec GUs need a quick tap — here's exactly what that means
Plug & Play
Reverse Light
Connects directly to the factory internal tail light loom plug. Unplug old, plug in new — nothing extra required for the reverse function.
Tap from Bumper Bar
Brake, Tail & Indicator
Australian-delivered GUs route brake, tail and indicator through the bumper bar lights — not the tail light body loom. You tap into those existing bumper bar wires and run them to the new lights. Guide included, ~1 hour total.
Why is this? Australian-spec GU Patrols were delivered with the tail light functions (brake, indicator, tail) wired through the rear bumper bar rather than the body tail light loom. This applies to virtually every Australian-delivered Series 4–8 regardless of variant. The reverse light uses the factory internal plug — that's plug and play. The rest requires tapping into the bumper bar lights, which is the same method most GU owners use and is clearly covered in the included guide. It's not difficult — just something to know before you start.
