Steering Wheel Core · Isuzu D-MAX · 2020+ (Facelift)
The D-MAX interior upgrade you notice on every drive.

The factory wheel is round, plain, and covered in whatever rubber Isuzu fits from the factory. This replaces the frame with a flat-bottom, carbon-style, leather-gripped core — while keeping every bit of your factory safety, every button, and every control exactly where it was.

Pre-order — dispatching September 2026. Order now to secure one from the incoming batch. 12-month warranty and 30-day store credit apply from your dispatch date.

What "core" means — and why it's the right way
What's new
Flat-bottom wheel frame
Carbon-style upper & lower sections
Leather grip zones
Reinforced internal frame, OEM dimensions
What transfers from your wheel
Factory airbag — same mounting points, same deployment geometry
Steering wheel buttons — same harness, same function
Trims, covers and factory wiring
Why a core, not a full wheel? Replacing the frame while reusing your factory airbag and controls means your safety systems remain completely unchanged. It's the correct approach — and it's why your airbag ends up exactly where the factory put it.
Also worth knowing
More leg clearance getting in and out — noticeable on the first drive
Leather grip is cooler in summer, warmer in winter than factory rubber

Install — 45 to 60 minutes
10mm socket (battery) 19mm deep socket (steering nut) Flathead screwdriver (airbag clips)
1
Disconnect the battery

10mm socket, wait for system capacitors to discharge — standard safety step before any airbag work.

2
Remove the factory airbag and wheel

Flathead screwdriver releases the airbag clips. 19mm deep socket removes the steering wheel nut. The wheel lifts off the spline.

3
Transfer your components

Airbag, buttons and trims move from your old wheel to the new core, straight onto identical mounting points.

4
Fit the new core and reconnect

Seat the core on the spline, torque the nut, reconnect the battery. Step-by-step guide and video link included.

Common questions
Will disconnecting the airbag cause a dash warning light?
+
It's the same airbag, same connector and same wiring — just moved to the new core. Nothing about the electrical circuit changes, so there's no expected reason for an SRS fault. As with any airbag work, disconnect the battery first and reconnect everything securely.
Is this road legal in Australia?
+
This is a direct replacement that retains your factory airbag in its original mounting position. We recommend checking with your state's vehicle standards authority or insurer if you have specific concerns about your registration or policy.
What if I've never worked on a steering wheel before?
+
The install guide and video link cover every step. Most first-timers complete it in under an hour. If you're not comfortable, any mechanic can do it quickly — message us if you'd like a recommendation.
What's the returns policy?
+
30-day change-of-mind store credit on unused items. Faulty unit? We cover return shipping and replace it under the 12-month warranty. Full policy here.
