Common questions
Do I need to buy anything extra for the 4G on Elite?
Elite gives you the physical SIM slot and antenna for standalone 4G — the SIM card and a data plan are yours to source, same as you would for a phone. Without a SIM fitted, it falls back to using your phone's hotspot like Essentials.
Does it come with Hema, Newtracs or other mapping apps?
No — it runs full Android with Play Store access, so you install whichever apps you use, same as on a phone. Built-in offline GPS works without any app installed; paid apps and their subscriptions are separate purchases.
Does my Y61 have a factory reverse camera I can keep?
No — reverse cameras weren't a factory-fitted option on Patrols from this era (1997–2004). If you want one, our 1080P add-on camera (+$100 with OBD reader) is plug-and-play with the head unit, or you can go without — the unit works normally either way.
Will this void my vehicle warranty?
The install is fully reversible — original parts unplug and can be refitted. A manufacturer generally can't void your whole vehicle warranty over an unrelated aftermarket part, but we're not lawyers and this isn't legal advice — if you're unsure, it's worth a quick check with your dealer.
Does it work with my aftermarket sound system?
Yes — RCA outputs for front, rear and subwoofer. Compatible with amplifiers and upgraded speaker systems. Message us if you have a specific setup and we'll confirm before you order.
What's the difference between Essentials and Elite?
Same features, different performance. Elite has double the RAM (6GB vs 3GB), 4× the storage (128GB vs 32GB) and a 4G SIM slot for standalone internet. Essentials is the most popular choice and uses your phone's hotspot. If you tour or run multiple apps at once, choose Elite.
Will it cause dash warning lights?
The included harness is designed to prevent canbus errors. If you experience any issues after install, message us and we'll sort it fast.
What's your returns policy?
