Early GU Wagons carry most factory rear lighting in the bumper, leaving the large upper housings doing very little. This upgrade turns those housings into working full-LED tail lights while adding a darker, cleaner finish to the entire rear — alongside your existing bumper lights, not instead of them.

How the Wiring Works
Connects to the factory internal loom plug where fitted. A compatible plug is supplied regardless; on vehicles without the matching factory connection, it can be wired into the existing reverse circuit.
These functions usually require straightforward connections into the vehicle's existing rear-light wiring. The required plugs, wiring and indicator resistors are supplied with the pair.
Direct Bolt-In Installation
The housings bolt straight into the factory positions. Allow approximately one hour for mounting, wiring and function testing.

Common Questions
Do these fit every GU Patrol?
No. They fit GU Wagon Series 1–3 from October 1997 through September 2004. They do not fit the GU Ute/Cab Chassis or the later Series 4–10 Wagon housing.
Does this replace my factory bumper lights?
No. On early GU Wagons, most factory rear lighting is in the bumper. This kit adds working LED functions to the upper housings, but your factory bumper-mounted lights must stay connected and operational — this is a supplementary light, not a full tail light replacement.
Are all lighting functions LED?
Yes, within the upper assemblies. Brake, tail, indicator and reverse functions are integrated LED in both upper tail-light housings.
Will the indicators hyperflash?
No when installed with the supplied resistors. The resistors provide the load required for the LED indicators to flash at the normal rate.
Is installation completely plug and play?
The housings are a direct two-bolt fit. Reverse plugs in where the matching factory connection is present; otherwise it can be wired using the supplied plug. Brake, tail and indicator connections usually need to be tapped into the existing rear-light wiring.
Can I disconnect the bumper lights?
No. Keep the factory bumper-mounted lights connected and fully operational. The upper assemblies add working LED lighting but do not replace that requirement.
