Not everyone wants
the same headlight upgrade.
Same bi-LED projector system. Same 250 lux at 25 metres, same 200m reach, same H4 plug-in install. Different housing design. If you looked at both LC70 headlight options and chose this one, you chose it for how it looks. That’s a valid reason — and the performance backs it up.
What makes these different
Different design, same projector output
Different housing design — same specs underneath
Both LC70 bi-LED headlight options run the same projector system — same lumens, same lux, same wiring. The $100 premium on this kit is entirely the housing design. You’re not paying for better performance. You’re paying for a different look on the front of the truck.

⚠ Why 6,500K? Sits at the top of natural daylight white — brighter than halogen yellow, without the blue tint that kicks in above 7,000K. Maximum contrast on a dark outback road.

Low beam — what it actually looks like on the road
Shot on a real outback road at night.
LC70 bi-LED projector headlight low beam output on dark road at night
What you’re looking at
Wide spread covering the full road width, solid throw down the centreline, and the beam cuts off at the horizon. This is the projector output you’re getting — regardless of which LC70 headlight housing design you choose.

Why an LED bulb in the factory housing doesn’t fix this
The housing is the problem, not the globe
Forum consensus — and physics
The factory 70 Series reflector was designed for the exact filament position of an H4 halogen globe. An LED chip sits in a different position — light bounces unpredictably inside the housing. The result is often worse than stock halogen forward throw, while blinding oncoming drivers with scattered light. Projector optics focus the output. This is a complete replacement assembly, not a globe swap.
Factor LED Bulb in Factory Housing This Bi-LED Projector
Beam control Scatters in all directions Lens focuses output forward
Cut-off line None — glares oncoming Sharp horizontal cut-off
Long distance throw Poor — output not focused 250 lux+ at 25m measured
Condensation risk Seals often fail IP67 — fully sealed housing
Warranty & support Often zero 12-month Aussie warranty

Wiring — only two connections
LC70 is one of the easiest vehicles to upgrade
No canbus. No relay. No resistors. No decoder.
The 70 Series runs a simple 12V H4 headlight circuit — low positive, high positive, ground. There is no canbus monitoring of the headlight circuit. No relay harness, no load resistors, no decoder, no error codes. One of the easiest headlight upgrades in the 4WD market.
Connection 1
H4 connector
Unplug the factory H4 headlight connector, clip in the new harness. 30 seconds per side. Low beam + high beam done.
Connection 2
DRL trigger wire
One positive wire to either park lights or ignition. The only actual wiring step. 10–15 minutes.
Park lights or ignition?
Connect to an ignition-switched positive — DRL runs whenever the key is on. Cleanest setup. Both options covered in the guide.

Under 90 minutes — no auto electrician
Socket set and a wire stripper. That’s it.
1
Unplug the factory headlights
Unclip the H4 connector from each factory headlight. Remove the mounting bolts — same bolts go back in.
2
Bolt in the new assemblies
Drop into the factory headlight openings. Same bolts, same position, no drilling.
3
Plug in the H4 connector
Click the factory H4 plug into the new harness. Low and high beam done. 30 seconds per side.
4
Run the DRL wire optional
One positive wire to ignition-switched positive or park lights. 10–15 minutes.
5
Aim the beams critical
Park 5m from a flat wall in the dark. Cut-off line horizontal and level across both lights. 5 minutes per side. Don’t skip this step.

Full install guide included. Message us at any step and we’ll walk you through it.

Questions we get every day
What makes these different from the other LC70 projector option?
The housing design. Same bi-LED projector system underneath — same specs, same wiring, same install. The $100 premium is entirely the different housing design. If you prefer the look of this one, that’s the right reason to choose it.
Will I get canbus errors or a dash warning light?
No. The LC70 runs a simple 12V H4 halogen circuit with no canbus monitoring for headlights. No relay harness, no resistors, no decoder needed.
Do I need an auto electrician?
No. H4 is clip-in. The DRL wire is one positive to ignition. 90 minutes total including beam aim.
Do these fit the facelift LC70 (Oct 2023+)?
No — the October 2023 facelift uses a completely different headlight housing. This kit fits April 2007 to September 2023 only. Send us your build date if you’re unsure.
Why 6,500K?
6,500K is natural daylight white — the upper end before it tips blue. Factory halogen is around 3,200K (warm yellow). Above 7,000K goes blue-tinted, which reduces contrast at speed on a dark outback road. 6,500K is the sweet spot.
Will the housings fog up?
Minor condensation after a cold night is normal — physics, not a defect. Clears within a few minutes of running. Persistent fogging after 30 minutes is covered under warranty.
What’s in the box?
Left + right headlight assemblies (both complete), H4 plug-and-play wiring harness, DRL trigger wire, mounting hardware, and a full install guide. Nothing else to buy.
