You've spent serious money on the build. Then you climb in and stare at a 2009 radio with a 2-inch LCD.

If you've sorted the suspension, the lighting and the bullbar — this is the interior upgrade the build has been waiting for. Not a tablet velcro'd to the dash. A proper integrated unit.

13 inches. Full fascia replacement. The largest integrated unit available for the 70 Series.

This isn't a DIN unit crammed into an adapter plate. The screen and surround are one integrated unit — same opening, same mounting points, same result across the 76, 78 and 79 Series. The finished result looks OEM. The new fascia clips in where the old one came out. No cutting, no drilling.

Skip the auto electrician. A specialist shop typically charges $300–$600 in labour for a head unit installation, before parts. This is the complete kit, shipped same day from NSW.

The 4G SIM slot — when do you actually need it?

Drop any Telstra, Optus or Vodafone micro SIM into the slot and the head unit has its own independent 4G connection — no phone hotspot, no battery drain. If you already run your phone on hotspot and that works fine, you don't need a SIM. If you go remote where phone signal drops or you want the unit running independently — weather updates, live comms, map downloads in camp — it's worth having.

Touring areas where phone signal drops: activate it. Running hotspot from camp and that works fine: don't bother. The slot is there on both editions either way.

Installation — around 30 minutes

No cutting, no coding. If you can remove the factory unit, you can install this.

Remove factory head unit and centre trim — it unclips, nothing needs to be cut. Connect the included plug-and-play wiring harness to the factory loom. Clip the new fascia and unit into the factory opening. Power on. Full video guide included. Live chat at every step.

Common questions

Will it handle the heat and corrugations?

The unit is built for Australian conditions — heat-stable construction, vibration-resistant internals. These are the conditions it's designed and sold into. If you have a specific concern about your setup, message us before ordering and we'll give you a straight answer.
Will fitting this void my Toyota factory warranty?

The install is fully reversible — the original head unit and trim unplug and refit exactly as removed. Under Australian Consumer Law, a modification can only void warranty on components directly affected by it. Your drivetrain, suspension and engine are not affected. If Toyota ever queries it, the original unit goes back in cleanly.
Does it have a reverse camera input?

Yes — dedicated reverse camera input. The 1080P camera available at checkout connects directly and activates automatically when you shift into reverse. If you already have a camera fitted, it can be wired in. Message us with your current setup and we'll confirm compatibility before you order.
Can I run a dashcam through this unit?

Yes — dashcam apps run directly from the Play Store, with the 13-inch screen as your monitor. On Essentials, running a dashcam app alongside Hema may cause lag — this is the main reason Elite buyers choose 8GB RAM. On Elite, both run simultaneously without issue.
Will Hema Explorer work properly on this?

Yes. Download Hema from the Play Store, purchase your maps in-app, and they run directly on the unit. On Elite with 256GB you can store the full Hema library alongside other apps. On Essentials, load the maps for your region. GPS works completely standalone — no phone, no data connection required for navigation.
Do I actually need the 4G SIM?

Only if you want the head unit to have its own internet independent of your phone. If you're happy using your phone as a hotspot, you don't need a SIM. If you go remote where your phone drops signal or you want the unit running independently, the SIM is worth having. Standard Telstra, Optus or Vodafone micro SIM on 4G.
Do my steering wheel controls work?

What SIM card do I need?

Micro SIM, standard Australian 4G bands. Telstra, Optus or Vodafone. Buy a data-only SIM from any carrier and insert directly. One-time APN setup takes around two minutes.
What are the external antenna ports for?

One WiFi, one Bluetooth — run high-gain external antennas for extended range. Useful at camp when your hotspot or repeater is further away. Most setups won't need them, but they're there if you want them — not common at this price.
What if something goes wrong?
